For this production of Next to Normal by Brian Yorkey, the director wanted to keep the set as minimal as possible. The back wall created a blank slate for lighting to change as needed. The space became a home, a bedroom, a doctors office, so we needed it to be really flexible. The most intricate part of this design was the floor, it was mapped out to be like a giant wooden puzzle with a missing piece.
