Iphigenia follows the story of the Agamemnon, a Greek general, stuck on an island on his way to the Trojan War. He is told by his seer that the only way that the Goddess they have angered would be appeased is to sacrifice his young daughter Iphigenia. For the set of this musical, we wanted to have a wide open space with several levels for the cast to move around and explore. We decided to forgo the traditional heavy black fabric legs for gauze that we could hit with fans so they could blow in the breeze as the winds came back to take the ships away from the island to war.
